Redlands Police Arrest DUI Suspect in Saturation Patrol

The person was arrested during a grant-funded DUI "saturation patrol" operation, a police spokesman said Tuesday.

Redlands police working on tracking down drunk drivers in the city arrested one man for suspicion of driving under the influence, police officials announced Tuesday.

Richard Franco Jr., 21, of San Bernardino was arrested just after midnight Monday, according to police spokesman Carl Baker.

Baker also said that another driver was ticketed for driving on a suspended license.

"Police conducted the saturation patrol as part of a countywide 'Avoid the 25' enforcement effort on Super Bowl Sunday," Baker said in a press release.

A separate driver's license/DUI checkpoint held Friday night netted no DUI arrests, though a total of four people were cited for driving without a license, according to Baker.
