$600,000 for Telepresence according to Redlands Unified School District

District reveals costs for Telepresence program.

Follow-up to the "Telepresence" blog from February 13, 2013.

The Redlands Unified School District will spend $600,000 to implement the Telepresence Classrooms in four district high schools.  Redevelopment funds are stated to be financing the project.  The district disclosed the costs and funding source in a letter which is included with this blog post.

The letter also defends the district's decision to suddenly dismiss the retired vetran Latin teacher who was contracted to teach Latin IV for the last two years.   The teacher was called into the district office last week and told that she wouldn't be needed past the end of the week even though her contract was for the 2012-2013.  Parents, teachers and students were stunned at the two day mid-year notice that was given to an excellent vetran Latin teacher who has been contracted for the last two years to keep the Latin program afloat at RHS.  Is this  how RUSD shows gratitude to teachers that go the extra mile and care enough to make sure the students are set up for success and a program continues?
