A U.S. Army soldier from Yucaipa was killed over the weekend by an improvised explosive in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced this week.
Pfc. Nathan T. Davis, 20, of Yucaipa, Calif., died Saturday June 9 in Tore Obeh, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when his vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb during combat operations, a Defense Department statement said.
Davis was assigned to the 1st Battalion Airborne, 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team Airborne, 25th Infantry Division, according to the Department of Defense.
Davis died in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, the Defense Department said in an announcement released Tuesday.
