'Bail Out of the Dog Pound' Event to Raise Cash for Redlands Animal Shelter

The event is scheduled 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday Oct. 11 at 504 N. Kansas St., according to organizers.

The Redlands Animal Shelter is planning a "Bail Out of the Dog Pound" fundraiser next week.

The event is scheduled 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday Oct. 11 at 504 N. Kansas St., according to organizers.

"The Redlands Animal Shelter will be taking big-hearted animal lovers into custody . . . and they will need your help in bailing them out," city spokesman Carl Baker said in an announcement. "Proceeds from Bail Out of the Dog Pound will benefit the Redlands Animal Shelter’s spay and neuter program."

The "Pound Master" will be Animal Control Supervisor Bill Miller, and he'll be ready to "arrest" donors of $100 or more to bail themselves out of the Dog Pound, Baker said.

"Those in custody will also seek donations from family, friends, co-workers and others," Baker said.

Hot dogs and refreshments will be served, Baker said.

Organizers are seeking nominees to be "arrested" and locked up in the Dog Pound, Baker said.

To nominate someone for "arrest" or for more information, contact Miller at Redlands Animal Control, 504 N. Kansas St., call (909) 798-7644, or email wmiller@redlandspolice.org.
