HOME AT LAST: Steven’s Hope, a nonprofit organization that helps house families with children at Loma Linda University Childrens Hospital, says young Byron Magezi and his mother Ada Magezi, who left for their native Uganda on Saturday, arrived safely. “Their luggage on the other hand is still in route,” Steven’s Hope volunteers said. “Byron is having a great time being home and sharing all of his amazing stories about his travels in America with Steven's Hope!” was feature on Loma Linda Patch. The youngster almost died from an onset of sickle cell anemia and salmonella.

ONE WOMAN’S STORY: Obviously we like to keep you here with us on Loma Linda Patch. But I was so taken by the story of the Libyan woman who told a room full of reporters she had been raped by men loyal to Moammar Gadhafi. The woman spoke to NPR. She doesn’t have a local connection that I can see. But I find the story compelling.
