Five Things You Need To Know Today

Today is May 24. Here are a few things you might want to know today.

SUNNY DAY: We may escape the gusty winds that blew through some areas at 40 miles per hour. National Weather Service officials were expecting today would be partly sunny, gradually becoming sunny with a high near 78 degrees. Tonight should be mostly clear with a low around 56 degrees weather officials said. Winds could gust as high as 20 miles per hour.

PUBLIC HEARING: Just a quick reminder that the Council meeting is tonight at 7. The council would really like feedback from the community on the proposed mobile billboard ban. All those for and against are encouraged to attend. City Hall is at 25541 Barton Road.

FREE FOOD: Chili's Bar and Grill is always a favorite in our household for a change of pace. And it's made easier on nights like tonight. The chain is having another one of its Kids Eat Free promotions today. Just get a coupon and take it to one of the two locations that serve the area, San Bernardino and Redlands.

STORY TIME FUN: Looking to do something with the kids before lunch? Barnes and Noble will be having Preschool Story Time starting at 10 a.m. in the children's department. There will be stories and activities specially geared for preschoolers. For information, call 909-793-4322

HELPFUL PRAYERS:For those of you who believe in prayer, Steven’s Hope For Children is asking for your support. A staff member writes: “Please keep our sweet Lily in your prayers. She celebrated her First Birthday last week at Loma Linda Hospital and is fighting off a lot of infections. She will need surgery soon for a trach to help her breathing, but she can't receive the trach until her infections are gone. Yesterday she received a new PICC line, but things have not been going easily. Please pray that her infection goes away, her trach surgery is successful and she can start her road to recovery so that she and her family can go home.”
