Five Things You Need to Know Today

SUNNY DAYS: As we creep closer to summer, the weather is finally starting to catch up to the calendar. The National Weather Service is predicting a calm day, with a high approaching 77 degrees. Overnight could bring wind gusts of up to 20 mph, with a low temperature around 53 degrees.

END IS NEAR: High school students at Loma Linda Academy are in the middle of final testing as the school year comes to a close. Today is a minimum day for students in all grade levels, and will also mark promotion day for students finishing eighth grade. Friday is the last day of school, and will begin a weekend of ceremonies for high school graduates of the class of 2011.

END IS NEAR (PART 2): Today is also the final day of school for students in the Redlands Unified School District. It is a minimum day at all campuses. The senior class at Redlands High School have a full day of activities planned leading up to the school's 118th graduation ceremony at 7 p.m. tonight at the Redlands Bowl. The day will begin with a senior picture at 8 a.m. at the Redlands Bowl, followed by breakfast and rehearsal. Gates for the event will open at 5:30 p.m., with graduating seniors asked to arrive at 6 p.m.

WEIGHT LOSS: The Loma Linda University Medical Center offers a free monthly seminar for wanting more information on weight loss programs. UNFORGETTABLE FUNDRAISER: The Unforgettables Foundation will host the 21st annual Wine Extravaganza 2011 Gold Medal Showcase & Auction from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Ontario Airport Hilton, 700 N. Haven Ave., Ontario. Tickets are $65 in advance and $75 at the door All the money raised from the event goes to The Unforgettables Foundation.
