Five Things You Need to Know Today

Today is June 3. Here are a few things happening in and around the community.

WEEKEND WARMUP: The sun is starting to warm up in earnest for summer. National Weather Service officials are forecasting sunny skies today, with a high around 83 degrees. And the nice weather will carry over to the evening, with mostly clear skies in the forecast, with a low of 52 degrees.

FREE TACO: Today is the last day you can take advantage of a Facebook deal being offered by the . Use your mobile phone to check in at the restaurant's Facebook Places page, and you'll get an extra free taco (excluding shredded beef). The restaurant promises to start a new promotion soon, so make sure to friend their page.

GRADUATION TIME: Seniors at Loma Linda Academy will begin three days of graduation events tonight, leading up to Sunday's commencement. Today's activities include the commencement rehearsal followed by consecration services at 7 p.m. at . Baccalaureate services will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church, with the commencement ceremony scheduled for 6 p.m. on the Loma Linda Academy field.

HOCKEY NIGHT: OK, so you know we're hockey fans around here, so we felt the need to pass on an opportunity to see some games while supporting Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. Riverside Icetown, located at 10540 Magnolia Ave., Suite A in Riverside, is hosting its third annual charity tournament beginning today. Teams from around the area will be playing for the chance to play a team of NHL alumni in a final game. The rink will also be having an open house from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday for those interested in learning more about the hockey and ice skating programs offered. Members of the Los Angeles Kings' Alumni Association will also be in attendance.
