Five Things You Need to Know Today

Today is June 9. Here are a few things going on in and around your neighborhood.

MORE OF THE SAME: The patchy clouds and fog that covered the region for most of yesterday is in the forecast again today. National Weather Service officials say there should be patchy fog before 11 a.m., with gradual clearing before hitting a high around 79 degrees. The clouds will come back overnight, with a low expected around 53 degrees.

XTREME CAMP: Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa Regional Occupational Program is registering students for their Xtreme Summer Day Camp. The camp, geared for students entering sixth grade through those leaving the eighth grade, is designed with programs that will prepare students for high school, while exploring potential career options. There are four weekly camps available, which will run each day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Registration is free for students in the Colton Joint and Redlands Unified school districts. BENEFIT RIDE: Registration is open for the fifth annual Keven J. Hooper Foundation Poker Run to benefit the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House. The ride, set for June 19, will begin at 8 a.m. at the Ronald McDonald House and end at Boondocks in Corona. Registration is $25 for single riders and $35 for couples. There will be prizes for best hands and a raffle with a four-night stay in Las Vegas as the grand prize. For information, or to register online, visit the foundation's website

HOOPS HELP: The Los Angeles Clippers, in conjunction with the National Basketball Academy, have scheduled two basketball camps at the Drayson Center this summer.  Open to boys and girls ages 7 to 16, the camps will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 20-24 and Aug. 8-12. All participants will receive a ticket to a Clippers game, camp T-shirt, headband and basketball. Cost for the June camp is $295, and includes a visit from Clippers' player Mo Williams. ROCKING SHOW: A limited amount of tickets are still available for tonight's show featuring former Led Zeppelin lead singer Robert Plant with the Band of Joy at the San Manuel Casino. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. You must be 21 and older to enter the casino. Tickets can be bought at the box office or through Ticketmaster.com.
