Five Things You Need to Know Today

Today is July 13. Here are a few things happening in and around your community

CALM RESPITE: Things are cooling down a bit, giving us a break from the normal heat we would see in July. The National Weather Service forecast is calling for a chance of drizzle and patchy fog before 11 a.m., and clouds through mid morning. Then we should see gradual clearing throughout the afternoon, with a high near 82 degrees. Tonight, the chance of drizzle returns after 11 p.m., with increasing clouds and a low around 59 degrees.

NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME: Communities across the Inland Empire are preparing to observe National Night Out on Aug. 2. The program aims to build neighborhood relationships and encourage neighbors to come together and partner in an effort to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and will not tolerate crime, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s said. National Night Out is celebrated throughout the country every year on the first Tuesday in August. It is organized by the National Town Watch Association, which is celebrating the program’s 28th year. Target Corporation is a national sponsor for the event. To find an event near you, visit The National Night Out event website.
