Five Things You Need to Know Today

Today is July 23. Here are a few things going on in and around your neighborhood.

FOG THEN HEAT: You know the heat's coming when the National Weather Service issues a severe weather warning somewhere in Southern California. Luckily, it's not for this region (but look out if you plan on going to either desert). But we will see areas of fog before 11 a.m., followed by gradual clearing with a high around 95 degrees. Any clouds we get should clear out overnight, with a low around 65 degrees. But look out for Sunday, with a high predicted around 97 degrees. Make sure to hydrate, and . 

WINE AND DINNER: Isabella's Ristorante Italiano will be having an all-inclusive wine and meal tonight as part of its wine dinner series. Showcasing organic wines from Italy, the all-inclusive $75 cost includes wines, meal, tax and gratuity over a four-hour period. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with dinner service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Space is limited and reservations are required. The restaurant is at 330 N. Sixth St. in Redlands. EVENING MUSIC: The City of San Bernardino's Court Street Square has free weekly concerts Saturdays through Sept. 10. This week's show will feature the Cold Comfort blues band. There will be food vendors available for those looking for dinner and a concert. Court Street Square is at Court and E streets in downtown San Bernardino. CONSERVANCY EVENTS: The Redlands Conservancy has a pair of events next weekend as part of its Parties for the Necklace project. July 30 will be a slow garden party, as Chef Lee Burton will help three home gardeners turn their bounty into meals for guests. The event is $75 per person and limited to only 12 participants. On July 31, guests will head out to Windfall Farm for an evening of ranch activities and barbecue from 5 to 8 p.m. This event is limited to 50 people. Cost is $45 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. To make reservations for either event, call (909) 792-1800.

HOMECOMING: Loma Linda Academy graduates from the Classes of 2001 through 2011 are being invited back to the school for a Young Alumni celebration on Aug. 20. There will be a Vespers Service with Pastor Mark Holm at 7:30 p.m. followed by fun and games. For information, contact Mary Morgan at (909) 796-0161 ext. 3313.
