Five Things You Need to Know Today

Today is July 26. Here are a few things going on in and around your community.

ONE DAY ONLY: Well, the humidity was here, and it should be gone today. The National Weather Service has lifted its extreme weather warning for the region (but not for the low desert, yet), and we should see sunny skies today with a high around 93 degrees. Overnight, we'll remain clear with a low around 62 degrees, with wind gusts up to 20 mph. Wednesday should remain relatively cool, with the heat picking up again Thursday.

COMEDY FOR CHARITY: The Ontario Improv will be the location tonight of a benefit show for Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. The show will feature comics, magicians and pretty much anything silly. Cost is $10 per ticket, plus a two drink minimum, with partial ticket sales benefiting the hospital. They will also be taking donations at the end of the show, 100 percent of which will go to the hospital. The show is for ages 18 and older. For more information, or to buy tickets, you can check the Improv website.

MUSIC JAM: A group of primarily folk and bluegrass musicians have scheduled weekly gatherings in front of the Loma Linda Market for a weekly jam session, beginning at 7 p.m. Primarily string instrument players participate, and all are welcome to join in. For more information, check the group's meeting website.
