High Wind Warning for Redlands, Loma Linda, Region Thru Sunday Afternoon

Sustained winds of 25 miles per hour to 40 mph were expected in an area including the Cajon and San Gorgonio passes.

Strong Santa Ana winds blowing in from the northeast to the Redlands and Loma Linda area Saturday night were expected to last through Sunday afternoon or evening, according to forecasters.

Sustained winds of 25 miles per hour to 40 mph were expected in an area including the Cajon and San Gorgonio passes.

The strongest winds, with gusts to 65 mph in vulnerable locations, were expected late Saturday through Sunday morning, especially in passes and canyons, according to the National Weather Service.

A high wind warning was in effect late Saturday through 4 p.m. Sunday, and a wind advisory was to follow, from Sunday afternoon through 3 a.m. Monday.

"Strong cross winds will make travel especially hazardous along Interstate 10," as well as on the 60 Freeway and the 210 Freeway below the Cajon Pass, the Weather Service advised.

Motorists were advised to watch for downed tree limbs and power lines.
