Inland Areas Will Be Drenched Officials Say

Up to an inch of rain could fall in parts of the Inland Empire.

Morning commuters out of Loma Linda and Redlands may have been greeted at 7 a.m. only by gloom, but officials with the National Weather Service say the rain is definitely coming.

Forecasters issued hazardous weather warnings because of the expected storm.

Weather officials predict isolated thunderstorms in parts of the Inland region. Anywhere from a quarter inch to an inch of rain could drench the area, officials said.

Today’s temperatures were expected to reach a high near 53 degrees. An east wind of around five miles per hour becoming calm was predicted. Tonight the temperature was expected to drop to about 44 degrees.

Rain will continue to threaten the area on Tuesday. There is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 a.m. Weather service officials expected the day to be mostly cloudy, with a high near 60 degrees and a calm wind.

Tuesday Night was supposed to be partly cloudy, with a low around 38 degrees.

California Highway Patrol and Caltrans officials remind motorists to give themselves more time when driving on the freeways.
