A Pediatric Head and Neck Surgeon with Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital will take part in an attempt to set a new helicopter speed record.

Dr. Miguel Krishnan, Pediatric Otorhinolaryngologist, will join aviators Jerry Peck, Travis Reid and Chief Pilot Johan Nurmi in the effort. The team sets off at 6 a.m. on Saturday from Brown Airport in San Diego to Savannah Hilton Head, Georgia, and back.

The effort will also raise funds and awareness for the children's hospital.

The team will attempt to break the world speed record of 56 hours, 24 minutes, set by some of the members of the same team last year.

The group will carry the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital banner and will try to generate awareness and support for the hospital during their trip, hospital officials said.
