Loma Linda Heart and Surgical Hospital Talks Women's Health

The event is part of the Speaking of Women's Health series which aims to put women in charge of their health

Today promises to be a rewarding and informative day for women who attend the “Women’s Works: Tools for a Healthier You” event at the Loma Linda University Heart & Surgical Hospital.

Participants are slated to receive free spa treatments, giveways, and valuable information for better health. The event is from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Heart & Surgical Hospital, 26780 Barton Road, Redlands.

“Women need to be educated on treatment options for conditions ranging from incontinence to cervical cancer,” said Beverly Rigsby, Director of Women’s Services at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

“The more women know, the more informed they will be in their treatment decisions if they ever have to face these conditions,” she said.

The event is part of the popular Speaking of Women’s Health series of events, which aim to put women in charge of their health. At the Women’s Works event, participants will hear from experts who will help women better understand changes that occur in their body as they mature, as well as hear about the latest minimally invasive options, such as robotics, to treat common women’s health issues.

The kids at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital have great fans in the champions at Stronghold Motorsports.

On Thursday, a check for $75,000 was presented to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital by the Stronghold Motorsports organization, reflecting the money raised by the off-road racing community, sponsors, supporters and matching contributions to the “Racing for the Cause” campaign.

With an all-star lineup featuring seven-time Supercross champion Jeremy McGrath; ESPN X Games TV personality and off-road racing star Cameron Steele; short course champion Rob Naughton; and Brandon Bailey. Stronghold Motorsports has quickly risen to the elite ranks of the high-intensity world of off-road racing.

Last year, the Riverside-based Stronghold Motorsports organization initiated the “Racing for a Cause” campaign to benefit the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. The awareness campaign included a visit to the hospital by the Stronghold Team, in addition to Off-Road Night with the Ontario Reign hockey team. The Racing for the Cause campaign continues, and donations of $10 can be made by texting KIDS to 27722.

Many thanks to the Stronghold Motorsports organization and members of the off-road racing community!
