Hundreds of people were downtown Friday evening in Redlands for live music from the city's homegrown Tornadoes, restored cars and trucks, and the debut of Redlands 125th Red Ale.

The Tornadoes played the song that made them famous, Bustin' Surfboards, first released in 1962. They also showed class on several covers of Creedence Clearwater Revival, including Green River from 1969.

City councilmember Pat Gilbreath helped her daughter serve beer and collect cash payments for cups of Redlands 125th Red Ale in a fenced-off beer garden.

Hangar 24 donated the beer for the event and all proceeds were going to the Redlands Community Foundation, Gilbreath said.
