Rain Forces Cancellation of Redlands Market Night, Tree Fire Safety Demo

The fire department was going to show the dangers of having a live tree inside a home during the weekly event.

The rain that has splashed down across Southern California has put a dent in the Redlands Fire Department's plans to demonstrate holiday safety.

The department was going to hold a live fire demonstration on the dangers of improper use of Christmas tree lights on a live tree during the weekly Market Night in downtown.

But due to the inclement weather, the event has been cancelled. The fire department said on its Facebook page that they would try to have the demonstration at next week's Market Night, weather permitting.
