Redlands-Loma Linda Area Had 101 Oct. Foreclosure Properties: RealtyTrac

California was number one in the nation in October for foreclosure activity counts, with more 36,000, or one in every 379 housing units, according to RealtyTrac.

There were 101 foreclosure properties in the Redlands and Loma Linda zip code areas in the month of October 2012, according to records compiled by RealtyTrac.

In Redlands zip codes 92373 and 92374, there were 76 foreclosure properties, or one in every 379 housing units, and in Loma Linda zip code 92354 there were 25 foreclosure properties, or one in every 344 housing units, according to Irvine-based RealtyTrac.

San Bernardino County ranked third-highest in California in October for default notices, auction sale notices, and bank repossessions. There were 3,192 foreclosure properties in San Bernardino County in October, or one for every 217 housing units, according to RealtyTrac.

Nationally, foreclosure filings - default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions - were reported on 186,455 U.S. properties in October, an increase of 3 percent from September 2012 - but down 19 percent from October 2011.

According to RealtyTrac's U.S. Foreclosure Market Report for October 2012, which was released Thursday Nov. 15, one in every 706 U.S. housing units had a foreclosure filing during the month.
