Redlands Senior Center Offers Living Legacy Workshop 'To Tell Your Story'

The workshop is scheduled 10:30 a.m. Friday June 15 at 111 W. Lugonia Ave. The fee is $25.

The Redlands Community Senior Center is planning a workshop for people of any age who want to create a "living legacy" for themselves or a loved one, a city spokesman announced Thursday.

"A Living Legacy is about deliberately expressing yourself as you want to be remembered and expressing what you feel will be of value to those who read it, your loved ones," according to organizers of the workshop.

The workshop is scheduled 10:30 a.m. Friday June 15 at 111 W. Lugonia Ave. The fee is $25 and it will be conducted by Ariel Hollender, a family journalist.

Hollender "helps people to tell their story for their family," according to workshop organizers.

"It is not so important where our feet have walked in life, but where they have led," Hollender said in a workshop announcement. "As historian of your own and your family’s story, and as the standard-bearer of your own beliefs, your Legacy will speak for you down the generations. What will it say? Where will it lead?"

Workshop participants will receive a starter kit to create a personal legacy without further work from Hollender, according to organizers.

Hollender will be available for further fees to help individuals formalize their work on paper and on the Internet, according to organizers. More information about Hollender's work is at http://livinglegacies.com.

Advance registration at the Redlands Community Senior Center is essential, organizers said. For more information, call David Jaffe at (909) 709-7547 or the center at (909) 798-7579.
