Snow Dusts East Redlands, Mentone, Yucaipa, Calimesa, Slows EB 10 Traffic

Homes on Hilltop Drive off Sunset in east Redlands got a light dusting of snow that turned to icy rain and drizzle just after noon Feb. 8.

Cold air moving through the east San Bernardino Valley helped produce snow Friday that dusted elevations down to around 2,000 feet in neighborhoods of east Redlands, Yucaipa and Calimesa.

From Panorama Point in east Redlands, elevation 2,187 feet above sea level, the snow line was visible from Seven Oaks Dam to the north in east Highland to backed up traffic on the eastbound Interstate 10 headed toward the San Gorgonio Pass, where snow was reported in Beaumont.

A winter storm warning was in effect for the San Bernardino Mountains through Friday night, with up to eight inches of snow possible at elevations above 4,000 feet.
