Registration this week is $40 for for ages 15 to 59, $35 for ages 14 and under, and $35 for ages 60 and up, according to organizers.

To register online visit www.kleinclarksports.com or www.active.com.

Registration in-person will be available 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday Oct. 26 at the Running Wild Store, 611 S. Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, where registrants will be able to pick up race numbers and timing chips, organizers said.

To sponsor others in the event, contact Lynne Stephenson at (760) 778-4502 or lynne.stephenson@thedesertsun.com, or Alison Elsner at (760) 413-5053 or allalis@aol.com.

Registration will continue on race day at 5:30 a.m. Saturday Oct. 27, near the start line at Tramway Road and Highway 111.

Race start is scheduled at 7 a.m. sharp.

"Parking is available just up the road at the Carl's Jr. lot at Racquet Club and North Palm Canyon," organizers said.

Organizers are coordinating with Palm Springs/Coachella Valley Make a Difference Day, and they're asking Tram Road Challenge participants to tweet #mmday12 at 10:27 a.m.

Usually I'd start with how teachers should be paid in line with their students grades, but for nowRead More I'll just suggest going to the .99 cent stores. You can get everything from 100 packs of #2 pencils to college ruled notebooks and binders, to pens and highlighters. We go there weekly and send boxes of school supplies, crayons and coloring books to our troops in Afghanistan to help them befriend the locals. The biggest score is cans of party string that usually go for $5. They spray it into a room and the streamers will hang on any tripwires without setting off the bomb. And try asking the store manager if corporate might be willing to throw in 2 for the price of one or a bakers dozen on highly stocked items if you can get several other teaches to also shop there. It never hurts to ask.
