Winter Coat Drive by City of Redlands and the Redlands Service Club Council

More than 3,000 items were donated and distributed last year, according to organizers. There will be drop-off containers at the City Clerk's office, Joslyn Senior Center, Redlands Senior Center, and Redlands Community Center.

The City of Redlands and the Redlands Service Club Council are touting their annual drive to collect winter coats and other warm clothing for community members in need, a city spokesman announced Tuesday.

More than 3,000 items were donated and distributed last year, Carl Baker of the City of Redlands said.

Volunteers this year are hoping to gather "clean and new or gently used items including coats, jackets, scarves, gloves, hats, blankets, quilts, and sleeping bags," Baker said.

The first collection deadline is 2 p.m. Oct. 10.
