Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival

The Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival is comprised of several free performances throughout the summer ranging from classical music concerts to staged plays and gorgeous ballets. All of the performances are free.

Shows begin at 8:15 p.m. most Tuesdays and Fridays, with a few Thursday and Saturday performances as well, through August 19. The Community Sing begins prior to most, but not all, Tuesday evenings performances at 7:15 p.m.

Friday July 22: Redlands Symphony Orchestra. “Beethoven Reveries,” conducted by Frank Paul Fetta, featuring guest pianist Esther Keel performing Beethoven’s “Emperor” Concerto.  Co-sponsored by Glenn Vernet.

Tuesday July 26: Dress Rehearsal, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.” No Community Sing.

Thursday-Saturday, July 28, 29 and 30: Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.” A magical fairy tale is reborn 
with all the originality, charm and elegance that are the hallmarks of a Rodgers & Hammerstein production. Adapted for the stage with great warmth and much hilarity, this enchanting story transports the audience to a miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, where the hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits. Wayne Scott, producer/director. Co-sponsored by The Physicians of Beaver Medical Group.     

Tuesday August 2: Dr. Jack Poster. "A Tribute to Harry James & Friends." Master trumpet artist Dr. Poster leads his band in a swingin’ tribute to the very best music of the Big Band era. Featuring vocalists Troy Clarke and Cassie Miller, and clarinetist Ken Dahleen. Co-sponsored by Carol Baker, Baker’s Drive-Ins.

Friday August 5: "A Dreamy Night of Opera," Frank Paul Fetta, conductor. The glorious voices of four virtuoso opera singers soar in a rich potpourri of opera’s most beautiful solo and ensemble arias. Performed with orchestra. Co-sponsored by Esri.

Saturday August 6                   CANCELLED.    

Tuesday August 9: Lisa Haley and the Zydekats. Described as the most joyful American/Cajun/Zydeco act on tour today, Lisa and her all-star band serve up a zesty musical feast of original tunes and Louisiana Bayou rhythms seasoned with boundless energy, spirited instrumentals, and compelling vocals. Co-sponsored by Ken & Judith Stanford.

Friday and Saturday,  August 12-13: State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara present the “Jungle Book.” The ballet follows the adventures of Mowgli, a "man cub" who was lost in the jungle and saved from the evil tiger Shere Khan by a pack of wolves. They raise the boy as their own with the help of the loveable bear Baloo and the panther Bagheera, but eventually Mowgli must find his way back to humans. Rodney Gustafson, Artistic Director. Co-sponsored by David & Robin Maupin of Maupin Financial Services to celebrate the children of Micah House.                     

Tuesday August 16: Dallas Brass. One of America’s foremost musical ensembles returns to the Bowl with a repertoire that includes classical masterpieces, Dixieland, swing, Broadway, Hollywood, and patriotic music blended with wit, humor and a whole lot of fun. As a special feature of the concert, Dallas Brass will invite Redlands middle school and high school band students who participated in a residency clinic to perform with them on stage. Co-sponsored by Norma Nesbitt.

Friday, August 19: Redlands Symphony Orchestra. “Finale Visions,” conducted by Frank Paul Fetta. Featuring virtuoso violinist Roberto Cani performing “Scottish Fantasy” by Max Bruch. Fireworks will accompany the orchestra finale.
