Santa is Coming Town to Help Loma Linda's Children's Hospital

A photo with Santa has been organized along with a Winter Wonderland event that features actual snow.

Familiar holiday figures will be coming to town this weekend to bring cheer – and photo opportunities – to patients, family and friends of Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Today, Santa Claus and firefighters from Loma Linda Fire Department will team up in an event to benefit Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital and Loma Linda Firefighters Association.

People may get their pictures taken with Santa Claus from noon to 4 p.m. at Loma Linda fire station, 11325 Loma Linda Drive. Pictures are $5 for a 4x6 Christmas card picture; and $10 packages are also available.

Also on Sunday, a “Winter Wonderland Christmas Celebration” will be from 2 to 6 p.m. at Loma Linda University Medical Center East Campus, for current and former patients of Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital and members of Loma Linda University PossAbilities.

Some 20 tons of snow will be delivered to East Campus Park, in front of the Zapara Rehabilitation Pavilion, to create a snow bank for participants to play in.

Santa Claus will make an appearance on board a Loma Linda Fire Department fire truck, while Mrs. Claus will arrive aboard a horse-drawn sled, which will take attendees on a ride around the park. A bell choir and carolers will perform Christmas songs.

The winter wonderland is sponsored by Total Transportation Logistics; Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital; and San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.
