Bertinelli, Short, Dolenz? Stars Help Children's Hospital

More than 500 people attended two star-studded shows at the Indian Wells Theater in Palm Desert.

Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital is the recipient of a $40,000 donation thanks to “Celebrity Autobiography,” a stage show presented by the Big Hearts for Little Hearts Desert Guild.

More than 500 people attended two star-studded shows Feb. 21 at the Indian Wells Theater in Palm Desert. Craig Bierko, Valerie Bertinelli, Martin Short, Andrea Martin, Florence Henderson, Lainie Kazan and Mickey Dolenz took the stage, along with the show’s creators, Eugene Pack and Dayle Reyfel, reading excerpts from other celebrities’ memoirs.

“We had such a fun time on stage, and knowing it was for the kids at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital made it all the more enjoyable,” Pack said, of the show. “We can’t wait to make this happen again!”

Funds raised at the event will go towards a new satellite pharmacy for the pediatric intensive care unit.

A number of artists donated their artwork for the “Be My Valentine” art show, which was held in Ontario. The show was dedicated to Manny Hernandez Sr., who had a kidney transplant at Loma Linda University Medical Center last year. Mr. Hernandez received a kidney from his son, Manny Jr., and both experienced amazing recovery.
