Free Coffee Friday at Redlands-Loma Linda 7-Elevens Means a 'Free Vote' Too

The promotion is scheduled 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sept. 28 and all Redlands area 7-Elevens are participating, a store employee at the East Citrus Avenue store said Thursday.

Redlands-Loma Linda area 7-Elevens are giving away free 20-ounce coffees Friday morning, and the give-away includes a "free vote" in the national chain's presidential poll.

Customers can choose between blue Obama cups and red Romney cups, and each vote is counted at the register, according to promoters.

Store chain representatives claim "the unabashedly and unscientific poll has correctly predicted the presidential election for the past three election cycles – 2000, 2004 and 2008."

According to a 7-Eleven web page devoted to the poll, Obama was leading Romney 61 percent to 39 percent in California as of 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Romney was leading in states including Idaho, West Virginia, the Carolinas and New Hampshire.

Voting in the so-called "7-Election" ends on Election Day, Nov. 6.
