We’re very excited to welcome these new physicians and staff to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

The Department of Neurology is pleased to welcome Dr. Elia Emile Haddad as our Department of Neurology Stroke Director.

Dr. Haddad received his medical degree at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon (2000), his neurology residency and stroke fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn (2008), and served as the stroke director at Lutheran Medical Center, Brooklyn NY, prior to his arrival at Loma Linda. Dr. Haddad has an interest in the treatment of acute stroke, stroke prevention, and the neuropsychology of stroke disability. He will serve as the Stroke Director of LLUMC to coordinate the dedicated inpatient stroke service, the East Campus stroke program, and the regional stroke program. Dr. Haddad joins the multidisciplinary stroke team at LLUMC, comprised of neurologists, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and an acute interventional team that includes radiology and neurosurgery.

We want to recognize the efforts of Dr. Sarah Uffindell, who has served as the interim stroke director since 2008. She was instrumental in obtaining Joint Commission accreditation of LLUMC as a certified Stroke Center and in the implementation of the dedicated inpatient stroke service, which will begin November, 2011. Dr. Uffindell will continue to contribute to our stroke program as the Stroke Co-Director of LLUMC and the East Campus.

The Department of Family Medicine is pleased to welcome Dr. Marc Debay.

Dr. Debay completed his Family Medicine residency at Glendale Adventist Medical Center and his Preventive Medicine residency at Loma Linda University.  He also has a Master of Public Health and a Doctor of Philosophy from The Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health.  We are pleased he has decided to join our group as a Family Medicine faculty physician.  He will see patients in the faculty practice and participating in the education of future residents.

In addition to caring for patients of all ages, Dr. Debay has special interests in preventive and lifestyle medicine, women’s health and family centered maternity care, whole person care, and global health.  He was born in Belgium and is fluent in English and French.

The Department of Family Medicine is also pleased to welcome Linnea Dorman.

Linnea Dorman is a nurse practitioner who graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 2008.  Born in San Bernardino, Ms. Dorman is a native of this area and before joining our group practiced at several regional hospitals.  As of September 19, 2011, she has been seeing patients in the Urgent Care.

With concern for each patient’s total well-being, Ms. Dorman’s kind and energetic manner is a welcome addition to the Urgent Care.  When not attending to urgent illnesses and ailments, she enjoys running, kickboxing, and spending time with her daughter and three dogs.
