A LLUMC team will join representatives from other health systems across the country to collaborate with the Obama administration to improve care in underserved communities

Ruthita J. Fike, Chief Executive Officer, and Gerald R. Winslow, PhD, Vice President of Mission and Culture of Loma Linda University Medical Center, have been invited to the White House on Sept. 20 to convene on Improving Health Outcomes through Faith-based and Community Partnerships.

They, and a small team from the medical center, will join health system representative from across the country that will collaborate with President Barack Obama's administration to find ways to improve the health and well being of underserved communities.

Ms. Fike and Dr. Winslow will share with the other health care representatives, the White House and health and human services officials the successful model of the connectedness between our faith-based system and the community to improve health care as a whole LLUMC has manifested.

Loma Linda University Medical Center is the only Californian institution scheduled to attend, hospital officials said.
