Miller Touts Endorsement by California Association of Mortgage Professionals

The congressman is seeking re-election in the new 31st District that includes Redlands and Loma Linda.

Rep. Gary Miller, R-Diamond Bar, who is seeking re-election in the new 31st Congressional District that includes Redlands and Loma Linda, has been endorsed by the California Association of Mortgage Professionals, his campaign announced Tuesday.

Other candidates in the race for the 31st District include Redlands Mayor Pete Aguilar, D-Redlands, and State Sen. Bob Dutton, R-Rancho Cucamonga.

"We have appreciated your great deal of work to revitalize the housing market and your understanding about how this will help create jobs and get the economy moving," Fred Kreger, president-elect of the association, wrote in his endorsement of Miller.

The support Miller has shown the housing and mortgage industry and respective professions has been unparalleled by any other member of Congress, Kreger said in the letter touted by Miller's campaign.

The California Association of Mortgage Professionals seeks to focus on "integrity in lending," promoting best practices, prudent government action and professionalism in all sectors of the mortgage industry, according to Miller's campaign.

With more than 2,000 members, mortgage brokers, and affiliated service providers, California Association of Mortgage Professionals is the largest association of its kind in the state, according to Miller's campaign.

"Bringing jobs and prosperity to San Bernardino has been a top priority of mine for the 14 years that I have represented San Bernardino County as a member of Congress," Miller said in a prepared statement. "I am proud to have received the support the CAMP and will work with them to free up lending and return jobs to the Inland Empire."

Primary election day is June 5. Six candidates appear on the ballot for Congressional District 31. Miller, Aguilar, and Dutton are joined by non-profit excutive director Renea Wickman, retired educator Rita Ramirez-Dean, and congressional oversight counsel Justin Kim.
