Patch Picks: Top 5 places to spend St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is here and you know what that means. If there was ever a holiday that screamed, "Cut loose and be merry," it's this one.

It's St. Patrick's Day and you know what that means.

Okay, so you might not know what a holiday named after the guy who drove the snakes out of Ireland has to do with Guinness and shepherd's pie, but there are plenty local establishments that would love for you to come trade your hard-earned greenbacks for their inviting green beer. Oh, and with NCAA tourney hoops kicking off in earnest, it's a double-down holiday for March Madness. If there was ever a holiday that screamed, "Cut loose and be merry," it's this one.

Here's Patch's top five recommendations on where you should spend your time today around Loma Linda:

Liams’s Irish Pub, 1087 S Mount Vernon Ave,
Colton. The cozy location has a small outdoor patio and usually features several performers. Information: (909) 422-9900

The Royal Falconer British Pub, 106 Orange St, Redlands.  Alright, it’s not quite Irish, but it's close. The Falconer has been a hotspot for the Inland Empire for many years with a Ye Olde English pub feel. The two-story facility has pool tables on the second floor. Information: (909) 307-8913

Killarney's Restaurant & Irish Pub,
3639 Riverside Plaza Dr., Ste. 532, Riverside. This location claims to be the first authentic restaurant in Riverside. They designed it to an authentic pub, according to its owners. Check out their website for today’s events. Information: 951-682-2933

El Torito Mexican Grill, 118 East Hospitality Lane,
San Bernardino. Mexican? From a chain? On St. Patrick’s Day? Well yes. Odd yes, but the food chain seems to do the Irish proud breaking out the green and catering to the party atmosphere. The bar is large enough to accommodate a fair number of people and children are allowed there as long as they’re not sitting directly at the bar itself. Information: (909) 381-2316

Stingers Bar and Night Club, 194 W Club Center Drive,
San Bernardino. It will be a busy night at the bar that will go crazy for green today. Radio station X103.9 will come out to celebrate their St. Patrick's Day House guest will have a chance to win $250 cash in a Pot-O-Gold Beer Pong Tournament. Pictures with an “official” St. Patricks Day leprechaun will be available. The even is open to 18 and over. Information: (909) 872-0308
