Shoppers Crash Big Box Stores and Malls in Search of Black Friday Bargains

Area stores open doors to long lines as people begin the annual holiday shopping frenzy.

Best Buy waited until midnight to open its doors.

It need not worry.

Across the southland the electronics giant was mobbed with people looking for bargains early Friday, despite waiting until midnight to open. Other retail giants, such as Walmart (8 p.m.) and Target (9 p.m.), opened late Thursday. Parking was hopping as vehicles circled to find room in overflowing lots.

Other area stores and malls were also opening overnight with deals aplenty for shoppers.
