Verizon Wireless Says Upgrades Enable Faster Service for Redlands + Loma Linda

'Multiple, existing towers in the area have been upgraded with 4G LTE antenna panels to enable this,' a spokesman for the telecommunications company said.

Verizon Wireless is touting recent upgrades billed as capable of providing faster mobile services for smartphone users in Redlands, Loma Linda, Yucaipa, Calimesa, Beaumont and Banning.

"Verizon Wireless customers in the city of San Bernardino and expanded areas of Riverside County will be able to access all the content they enjoy on their mobile devices faster than ever with the launch of 4G LTE - the latest generation cellular network - in their community on July 19," Verizon officials said in a statement.

"Verizon Wireless is the only service provider offering the latest 4G LTE network technology in the Inland Empire, which is already offered in and around the city of Riverside," Verizon officials said. "With this expansion to San Bernardino and surrounding areas, most of the places people live, drive and work throughout the Inland Empire are now covered with Verizon Wireless 4G LTE."

Verizon Wireless officials claim benefits of the faster service include faster downloads, hi-def movies and video streaming "without delay," stutter-free video chat, and "seamless" video conferencing.

The new coverage area includes Banning and Beaumont in the south; extends northwest to Yucaipa and Calimesa; stretches west to Redlands and Loma Linda; covers north of Loma Linda to San Bernardino and Verdemont; and reaches as far east as Patton and East Highland, Verizon officials said.

Verizon Wireless officials said their 4G LTE network was ranked No. 1 in the metro Los Angeles area last month by PC Magazine.
