The culmination of more than seven years of photojournalistic work, “Faces of the Middle East” documents the rich diversity present in the region. Macura is the first female Australian and English-speaking TV news anchor in the Middle East – and she is also one of that region’s most recognized faces.

Prior to establishing Straight Street Media in 2012, Macura was one of the main anchors on Dubai One TV’s Emirates News. Her news experience includes the delivery of live-to-air news bulletins, frequently while she was in the midst of breaking stories both locally and across the Middle East.

“Faces of the Middle East” illustrates her journey after arriving in the Middle East soon after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and New York City’s World Trade Center.

Macura began her career in journalism more than ten years ago as a graduate of the University of Wollongong, where she also trained in photography. Originally a print journalist, her articles have been published in a wide variety of publications internationally, including Islamic Arts Magazine and Schön Magazine.
