Corporate Sponsors Realize Limbaugh Is A Spiteful Hatemonger

And He's Also a Fraud

The last few weeks have not been kind to people on the right. First right-wing propagandist Andrew Breitbart kicked the bucket from "natural causes" at age 43. And now self-described comedian Rush Limbaugh has currently been dropped by more than 90 advertisers, after he called Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke, a slut, prostitute and said she should post sex tapes online.

There is nothing shocking about Limbaugh's latest offensive comments. He has been getting rich from making racist and sexist jokes for the last 30 years.

What took these companies so long? I have written to several of his sponsors in the past complaining about their support of this noted hatemonger. But none of the threatened boycotts have worked in the past.

What Limbaugh said was offensive and out of line. But why were these companies silent over the years when Limbaugh made comments such as saying Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa looked "the line shoe shine boy," the NFL looked like "the Bloods and the Crips" and telling an African-American caller to take the bone out of his nose?

Limbaugh in his monumental stupidity also backed the infamous Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), led by the now world famous Joseph Kony. When President Barack Obama ordered troops to Uganda, Limbaugh automatically sided with the LRA because he had heard they were Christians, and knew Obama was against them.

Amazingly enough when you point out these comments, many people on the right and the left still don't think Limbaugh is a racist. Over the years, I have tried to ignore Dominican Rush. (My pet name for him after his Viagra bust on his way back from noted sex tourism hot spot, the Dominican Republic.)

Limbaugh thrives on controversy. His job is to drive up ratings and sell ads, and he is paid handsomely for that. Much like the unmourned Glenn Beck, who was even too crazy for FOX News, I doubt if he believes half the stuff he is saying. (In an interview in Forbes, Beck said that he ran an entertainment company, and "didn't give a flying crap" about the political process.)

In his book, "The Way Things Ought To Be," Limbaugh wrote, "I believe that strong, wholesome family values are at the very core of a productive, prosperous, and peaceful society." So how does his personal life stack up? Well, he is on his fourth marriage, to a woman young enough to be his daughter. He also lived in a separate house on the same estate from his third wife, for an extended period of time, and the couple was rarely seen together. (The marriage records from Limbaugh's third union are sealed.)  And he was busted several years ago, for abusing Oxycontin, after previously calling for harsh drug sentences. Limbaugh is also good friends with Miami drag queen, Elaine Lancaster, who said Rush gave him "great advice," and is pictured smooching with the Oxymoron.  According to Rolling Stone magazine, Limbaugh also urged Elton John and his partner to attend his fourth sham wedding, saying that "he supported civil unions." It is evident that nothing about his personal life is conservative.

The real joke is on his fans who tune in and actually believe they are listening to a fire-breathing conservative. Not likely, Limbaugh is in the entertainment business, his job is to play a troglodyte on the air, but that is evidently not who he really is. Still, he has to bear responsibility for his words.

For years Limbaugh could insult black people, gays, Latinos and Native Americans, but once he went after a white woman, who as one commentator said, "could have been my daughter," he crossed the line. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Oh and Limbaugh, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
