Consistency Key For Loma Linda Girls

Loma Linda Academy girls varsity defeats Woodcrest Christian 60-22 to remain undefeated in Ambassador League play.

As Loma Linda Academy’s girls varsity team jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first three minutes of the game against Woodcrest Christian, Darryl Trujillo, Woodcrest’s scorer and probably the person who most closely tracks the Ambassador League, commented, “That’s why they are ranked in the top 10 of the division. They deserve it.” The Roadrunners were indeed ranked #6 in the latest MaxPrep’s Division 5 AA computer ratings. More importantly, the team has not had let downs: they have scored between 53 and 61 points in seven of the eight league games so far this season. In the last three games, they tallied exactly 60 points in each.

Jacqui Jones and Caitlin Terukina combined for 18 of the Roadrunners 20 first quarter points while Ericka Dalida, Corinn Clevenger and Alex Stream hauled in 7 rebounds. The team rang up 9 steals while holding Woodcrest to only 2 points.

Jones and CeCe Ewing each hit from downtown in the second quarter as LLA extended its lead to 34-8 at halftime. Freshmen post players Amalia Goulborne and Karen Clayton got to play as a tandem for extended minutes.

All five starters scored in the third period. Stream and Clevenger combined for 3 blocks. In the final period, Aurriel Fennison led LLA with 4 points and 3 rebounds.

Jones finished with 20 points including going 4 for 4 from three point range. She also added 5 steals. Terukina ended up with 11 points and 4 assists. Alex Stream had another good game with 6 points and 7 boards plus 2 blocks. Brittany Walker led Woodcrest with 10 points.

LLA (18-2, 8-0) has three straight home games on January 22, 23 and 29 against Calvary Murrieta, Linfield and Ontario Christian.

Usually I'd start with how teachers should be paid in line with their students grades, but for nowRead More I'll just suggest going to the .99 cent stores. You can get everything from 100 packs of #2 pencils to college ruled notebooks and binders, to pens and highlighters. We go there weekly and send boxes of school supplies, crayons and coloring books to our troops in Afghanistan to help them befriend the locals. The biggest score is cans of party string that usually go for $5. They spray it into a room and the streamers will hang on any tripwires without setting off the bomb. And try asking the store manager if corporate might be willing to throw in 2 for the price of one or a bakers dozen on highly stocked items if you can get several other teaches to also shop there. It never hurts to ask.
