Court Hearing Delayed for College Professor Implicated in Drug Case

The Attorney Stephen Kinzey, professor at Cal State San Bernardino, has asked a judge for more time to look over new information.

The trial for a Cal State San Bernardino professor implicated in a drug trafficking case has been delayed again, according to reports.

Kinesiology professor Stephen Kinzey was in court Tuesday. During the hearing his attorney asked for more time to look over materials, according to a report by the Redlands Daily Facts.

According to the Fact’s Kinzey’s attorney James Glick told the judge, "the district attorney just gave us a bunch of new information that we didn't have.”

Kinzey, 46, of Highland, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for sale, receiving stolen property, participating in a criminal street gang, conspiracy and possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, according to the District Attorney's office.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 11, according to the Facts.
