When/Where: This Saturday at National Parks nationwide
Why Go: Entrance fees will be waived at National Parks across the country in recognition of National Public Lands Day. Not only can you explore your favorite park for free, you can practice being a good steward by volunteering for one of the many projects organized especially for the occasion. Service projects may range from maintaining trails to cleaning waterways to sprucing up campgrounds. Use this map to find a volunteer opportunity near you.

Why Go: Meet the author and illustrator of this very special children's book featuring a 10-year-old orphan who stumbles upon three magical eyes. Arriving early is suggested to allow time for book purchase if needed.

Why Go: Kids can see how fun fitness can be at this free open house. Enjoy games, prizes, deals, and lots of healthy playtime.

When/Where: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the corner of Highway 10 and Live Oak Canyon Road
Why Go: Enjoy free tractor-pulled hayrides, a fun haycastle, slides, bouncers, petting zoo, pony rides and more! Bands Cordially Yours and Felonius Plunk will play live on Saturday, and on Sunday, Keoki Ariola on Sunday.
The Pumpkin Patch will be open seven days a week from Sept. 24-Oct. 31. This year, they offer live music every weekend and a cool glow-in-the-dark corn maze!
