Redlands Townhall Speaker Series

Orlean Koehle, author of "Common Core, a Trojan Horse for Education Reform"

will speak on Common Core, the new federal top down education program that has been adopted by 47 states, including California.  Orlean will discuss curriculum, standards and teaching methods as well as of the loss of freedom of state and local districts in the influence and implementation of the system.  A number of states who have previously signed on to the system are now attempting to withdraw or have withdrawn, such as Texas.
Orlean is the State President for Eagle Forum of California and was honored by the Pacific Justice Institute as their 2004 "Faith and Community" recipient for her many years in  public service.  In addition to raising six children, Orlean has served as a leader in several state and national organization such as Boy Scouts of America, President of Concerned Citizens of Sonoma County and Parents involved in Education.
