No Legit Arguments

Overwhelming majorities of Americans favor voter ID laws -- but that won't stop frantic liberals from trying to derail a wave of new legislation in 30 states.

Most arguments, even the sides I oppose, have legitimate points of disagreements.

But arguments opposing voter ID laws are not among them. Even the liberals on the US Supreme Court voted in 2008 to uphold Indiana’s voter ID law, still considered the most restrictive in the country.

Now that some 30 states have enacted voter ID laws of some type, panicked liberals are grasping and throwing every race card they can find in a frantic attempt to stop the tide. They know that voter fraud has been a critical tool to keeping their pols in office.

(According to John Fund, author of the bestseller “Stealing Elections,” 10 percent of the votes “cast” in Chicago during the 1960 presidential election belonged to non-existent or dead people. The late-arriving votes from the Windy City that year were critical to John F. Kennedy defeating Richard Nixon.)

Voter ID laws resonate with the public because Joe Six Pack understands that he needs an ID card for everything – ranging from renting videos and cashing checks to buying cold medicine.

Majorities of blacks and Hispanics, whose voters are most often victimized most through voter fraud, also support voter ID laws.

Even mainstream Democrats support voter ID laws. It's just the liberals who don't.

Liberal attempts to fight voter ID laws are so laughable on their face that a recent speech by Attorney General Eric Holder required a photo ID for entry to listen to his speech attacking voter ID laws as racist.

You can’t make this stuff up.

In 2010, I attended training from American Majority, a grass-roots group which trains conservatives on political reality. The trainer said, because of voter fraud, that Republican candidates often must capture 52 percent of the vote to win a race. That two percent margin is often the difference between victory and defeat.

The good news is that several grass-root and non-partisan groups have emerged throughout the country in recent years. In California, we have the Election Integrity Project, which is fighting the good fight despite election laws biased in favor of Democrats.

I really enjoy watching liberals opposing voter ID laws. They do everything they can to find a few doofuses who actually try to exist in the USA without an ID. (Fund’s book is a fun read because he details court records of such people, who, once learning that they could get an official ID for free, said they would have got one if they had known.)

Thirty states can’t be wrong – but that doesn’t stop liberals from defying common sense in a desperate attempt to preserve their political base.
