Next Redlands Tea Party Meeting Focuses on Common Core

A 2014 candidate for California’s top public school office will address the controversial “common core” curriculum as part of her Oct. 3 speech to the Redlands Tea Party Patriots.

Lydia Gutierrez, running for the California State Superintendent of Public Instruction, taught in the public schools for 20 years. She is an elected official and serves as a board member for the Coastal San Pedro Neighborhood Council that oversees the Coast of San Pedro and the Port of Los Angeles.  

The Thursday meeting will be held at the Mill Creek Cattle Co., 1874 Mentone Blvd in Mentone. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and a no-host dinner precedes the two-hour meeting that begins at 7 p.m.
