Feds Raid IE PR Agency

Feds raid PR off ice in Colonies case.

Federal agents raided the offices of O'Reilly Public Relations in downtown Riverside today.

Officers wearing FBI and IRS shirts were seen going through boxes and walking through the offices. Law enforcement officials did not speak to members of the media who were present.

O'Reilly Public Relations was founded by Patrick O'Reilly. According to a recent article in The San Bernardino Sun, O'Reilly was a "uncharged co-conspirator," in the Colonies scandal, in which Jeff Burum, a Rancho Cucamonga developer, was alleged to a have bribed county officials in exchange for a favorable ruling in a $102 million settlement.

Warrants were also served at the homes and offices of O'Reilly, Burum and other defendants in the Colonies case.

The Colonies case has been described as the biggest corruption scandal in San Bernardino County history. Former San Bernardino County Assessor Bill Postmus has already pleaded guilty to corruption and bribery charges, in exchange for a lighter sentence. Former Supervisor Paul Biane is also facing charges in the Colonies case.
