Urban Land Institute now accepting applications for Best of the Best Awards

Urban Land Institute Orange County/ Inland Empire (ULI OC/IE) is now accepting applications for the second annual Best of the Best Awards.

Awards recognize achievements in developing sustainable communities

Urban Land Institute Orange County/ Inland Empire (ULI OC/IE) is now accepting applications for the second annual Best of the Best Awards, which honors organizations for their sustainable community projects and practices in Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. 

Companies, governmental entities, educational institutions and non-profit organizations may submit a project, program or policy for award consideration. Award categories include organizational leadership, achievement in community development and vision.

The deadline for submitting an application is January 31, 2012.  Those interested in applying can find the application online at http://orangecounty.uli.org/

The Best of the Best Awards are intended to raise awareness of exemplary sustainable community development practices. The awards highlight what can be done to create socially, economically and environmentally stable communities, and also shares those ideas and practices the building community.

The awards will be announced at a ceremony held on April 19, 2012 at the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center, Orange, CA.

“Sharing best practices is an element crucial to all economic stability – especially in regions that were hit so hard in the downturn,” said Phyllis Alzamora, executive director of ULI OC/IE. “The commissioning of these practices is an essential step on the path to recovery and future stability, and creates a great opportunity for the Urban Land Institute to give back to communities through sharing knowledge and expertise.”

The Urban Land Institute Orange County/ Inland Empire (ULI OC/IE) is a district council of the Urban Land Institute, a nonprofit education and research institute organization that provides leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities. The ULI OC/IE was established in 1988 and services Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
