In today's fast-changing workplace both managers and employees are looking for ways to improve their business skills and increase their output.

To help local working professionals advance their skills the City of San Bernardino, Office of Business Development offers a host of business training courses. Located at 201-B N. E Street, Suite 200 in San Bernardino, the Office of Business Development is a branch of the City of San Bernardino Economic Development Agency. It was created to promote business recruitment, assist with business retention and provide business resources and information to local companies.

"We want members of the Inland Empire business community to use our office as a resource to help them develop and grow their businesses," said Lori Tillery, economic development manager. "We also partner with other regional agencies such as the California Small Business Development Center and the U.S. Small Business Administration to provide workshops and business training."

"All of these workshops focus on issues that are important to busy professionals," Tillery said. "These workshops are great refresher courses for working professionals looking to brush up their networking skills, or improve their organizational skills."

She added that the Office of Business Development also provides other business services, apart from training and workshops.

"Apart from offering training workshops, the Office of Business Development staff also assists new companies by helping them cut through red tape, fast tracking permits and offering them cost cutting suggestions," Tillery said.
