Pets And Fireworks

Another 4th of July celebrating and honoring those who serve and paid the ultimate price so we can enjoy our rights & freedoms. And of course... HOT DOGS!!!
But before you leave for the big show or (in authorized areas) set off your own fireworks, make sure all yard gates are well secured and able to keep your best friend safe at home.
Even better, if your dogs get even a little shaken by fireworks, think about letting them camp out in the garage where exposure to the noise, concussions and flashes will be cut way down.
And just in case, take some photos of your pal and make an ID kit just like they do for kids. Also take the opportunity to update your contact information with your pet's Micro Chip provider, check that all tags have correct phone numbers clearly imprinted or engraved, and the tags are securely attached to a proper fitting collar.
Some dogs I know get so shook up by fireworks their Vet recommends the use Acepromazine or other remedy to get them through the night.
The bottom line is your dog has your back the rest of the year. So is it too much to ask your having their back for just one loud, flashy and confusing night?
