Leave your mythical god out of this; Get well soon.

What's disturbing is that this happened when they were down and out of the steep parts of the 38. There's a long passing lane not far before accident scene which the driver could have made use of if he was aware of a brake problem. I'm betting he didn't know his brakes were cooking, was tired, and just wanted to get to the freeway as soon as he could. It will be interesting to here the CHP report. Peace to all involved or lost.
Lorraine Pozniak February 4, 2013 at 10:14 pm
As I watched the "breaking news" all last night, what disturbed me the most was that the survivors of the crash were made to stand in line at the site, waiting for treatment. What was the reason for that? I've never heard of that before...Were they being discriminated against because they were Mexican?
Scott February 5, 2013 at 02:26 am
Just because your a racist does not mean everyone else is.
ATC February 5, 2013 at 12:00 pm
You are so full of it, Lorraine. No one was "made to stand in line waiting for treatment". If you can't add to the conversation without trying to stir up non-existent cr__, then please don't post.
Nancy Hall February 5, 2013 at 12:20 pm
The man in the pick up, a dear friend of ours and child of God, is fighting for his life in LLU.Why isn't the press interested in repopring about the occupants of the car or the pick up?
Dex February 5, 2013 at 01:21 pm
Geez Lorraine....at least they were treated humanely, and did get medical attention. Take a trip down to mexico and see how Americans are treated when they are in need of emergency medical care. They are routinely put on hold for hours, and then fleeced for every penny they can come up with. South of the border, they are concerned with money first, and then you might get treatment if you are still breathing.
Pam February 5, 2013 at 03:12 pm
Nancy,
Thank you for your post. I have been wondering since this horrific accident about the people in the car and pick up. I am so sorry about your friend. My prayers go out to him and his family and of course you and all of your friends..And of course everyone involved and their families as well. The press as far as I know, and I have been watching and waiting to hear, have not mentioned it. I have been following the story thinking the man in the truck must not have made it after viewing the truck. I never heard anything, I am happy to know that he is alive. Do you have any information on the person driving the car? I will make calls to friends who are dumbfounded regarding the 'not mentioning' the people in the vehicles involved. I live on HWY 38 and it was a very intense and scary situation wondering what happened 5 miles up the road from us, until the news came on at 8:00 PM. Pam

Mr. Richardson is in our prayers let his entire family know we are with them!!!!
Nancy Hall February 5, 2013 at 06:36 pm
I do not know anymore than you do about the people in the car. Numerous versions in the news stories. Prayers are appreciated. My husband was with his family at LLU last eve. His name is Fred Richardson. He is a very nice man and my husband has been friends with Fred and his family for over 20 years. He is a gardner/landscaper.
Last eve despite his massive injuries was breathing on his own. Please pray for him and his family. I believe that some of the people from the accident went to Arrowhead Medical Ctr. Not sure how many are at Loma Linda. In another report, I saw that Brenda Knight was related to Fred. I believe, the story said that he was her uncle.
Nancy Hall February 5, 2013 at 06:44 pm
Lorraine it is a shame that you live in such a perfect world. It is obvious you have no understanding of the turmoil that occurs when a horrific accident occurs such as this. I would expect that people were quickly assessed as to whether or not their injuries were life threatening, those who weren't were probably asked to step to the side and addressed according to their injuries. UNBELIEVABLE and offensive to me that you could even make such a statement. You should ashamed of yourself.
Lorraine Pozniak February 5, 2013 at 07:39 pm
I am genuinely concerned about the way these people were treated, I'm not being "racist" about it at all. I was watching NBC on Sunday night, as events were unfolding, and their people kept saying over and over again that "the survivors of the crash are patiently waiting on line for treatment".
Scott, Gary, Dex and Nancy Hall all need to learn how to read. I did say in my original post that, "what disturbed me the most was that the survivors of the crash were made to stand in line at the site, waiting for treatment." I honestly think that these people were mistreated, all around. I've never heard of people being made to stand around waiting for treatment. The entire situation needs to be investigated. Don't blame me for being concerned that they weren't treated as well as they should have been, no matter who they were, or where they were from. Dex, this accident happened in America. I don't care about how you think it would've been handled in Mexico, if it were a busload of Americans. Now who's being racist? Nancy, in reading your subsequent comments, I can tell that you're unhappy about the way the entire situation is being handled, as well. You, yourself, said, that there are "Numerous versions in the news stories." None of you should be jumping down my throat for making an observation based the way NBC reported the story on Sunday night.
Ben February 5, 2013 at 08:31 pm
Its standard practice in an accident situation involving a large number of people for first responders to ask those with non life threatening injuries to stand safely away in one area while they deal with the critically injured first. Then the EMTs will go and check out each one of the other people to see what treatment they need. Nothing personal about it.
ATC February 5, 2013 at 08:40 pm
You, Lorraine, are the one who brought race into this, not the rest of us. What you "saw" on the news was a tiny window on what was happening onsite, nothing more, and your "interpretation" of that window says more about who you are than what was actually occuring.
First responders were dealing with a huge number of dead and severely injured people. They do not care what race or nationality the victims are, and for you to even suggest that is offensive to me and many others. There was obviously more victims than medical personnel in the early stages, and so the responders have to engage in triage, assessing those who need attention first. Those who were not hurt as badly, must wait for further first aid. There is nothing wrong, or racist, about that, nor does it need "investigating". Or do you somehow think that there must always be at least one medical person immediately on-site for each victim, or else they are “being mistreated”? Would you prefer that medical personnel apply a band-aid to someone's minor cut while letting another severely injured person die? The people standing, waiting for treatment, WERE ABLE TO STAND, unlike many others. And it seems to me that Nancy is only "unhappy" about the press's failure to address the occupants of the car and truck, not the way the "entire situation" has been handled, as you claim.
Scott February 5, 2013 at 09:56 pm
yes Lorraine, Every time the first responders come to a crash they try to figure out who is here legally first...?????. Your either ignorant or have an agenda to push your racist agenda. I know a lot of firemen and police and NONE of them care about what color any one is at an accident. By the way, one of the fire department's was from the Indian casino so maybe they were only looking for Native Americans first. Get a life! people are people.
richard February 5, 2013 at 10:46 pm
my brother was on that bus,he was lucky that his injuries weren't that severe.he told us that the bus driver did the best he could, telling the passangers to go to the back of the bus so they could have a better chance to survive and was also trying to avoid the bus from falling into a cliff .in my opinion the bus driver should be seen as a hero. If you want to know what "sustainablity" is really about, come hear Rosa Koire at RedlandsRead More Townhall on May 23, 6:30 pm at the American Legion Hall, 814 W. Colton Avenue. "Sustainability" is UN Agenda 21.
Gregory Brittain May 21, 2013 at 10:03 am
“Sustainability” = UN Agenda 21 = less liberty and less prosperity. One of the bestRead More sources is self-described “liberal democrat,” “feminist,” “lesbian” Rosa Koire and her book “Behind the Green Mask: U.N. Agenda 21.” For more information, please see: http://www.postsustainabilityinstitute.org/ http://www.democratsagainstunagenda21.com/ http://www.democratsagainstunagenda21.com/uploads/4/4/6/6/4466371/why_is_everyone_talking_about_un_agenda_21.pdf http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDtCb45Lqt0 If the U.N. is involved, it can’t be good for America and it can’t be good for liberty. Usually I'd start with how teachers should be paid in line with their students grades, but for nowRead More I'll just suggest going to the .99 cent stores. You can get everything from 100 packs of #2 pencils to college ruled notebooks and binders, to pens and highlighters. We go there weekly and send boxes of school supplies, crayons and coloring books to our troops in Afghanistan to help them befriend the locals. The biggest score is cans of party string that usually go for $5. They spray it into a room and the streamers will hang on any tripwires without setting off the bomb. And try asking the store manager if corporate might be willing to throw in 2 for the price of one or a bakers dozen on highly stocked items if you can get several other teaches to also shop there. It never hurts to ask.
Susana Leija May 23, 2013 at 12:34 pm
I have shopped at Staples for years and have yet gotten a so-called reward. Why the change of heartRead More now? The school supplies are overpriced anyway. I get things really inexpensively at Walmart right before school starts. There is no limit as to how many things one can buy like there is at Staples.
History & Reason May 23, 2013 at 07:37 am
Look at that. A turn style. Hey where'd the party go?
