Thank you for your post. I have been wondering since this horrific accident about the people in the car and pick up. I am so sorry about your friend. My prayers go out to him and his family and of course you and all of your friends..And of course everyone involved and their families as well. The press as far as I know, and I have been watching and waiting to hear, have not mentioned it. I have been following the story thinking the man in the truck must not have made it after viewing the truck. I never heard anything, I am happy to know that he is alive. Do you have any information on the person driving the car? I will make calls to friends who are dumbfounded regarding the 'not mentioning' the people in the vehicles involved. I live on HWY 38 and it was a very intense and scary situation wondering what happened 5 miles up the road from us, until the news came on at 8:00 PM. Pam
Last eve despite his massive injuries was breathing on his own. Please pray for him and his family. I believe that some of the people from the accident went to Arrowhead Medical Ctr. Not sure how many are at Loma Linda. In another report, I saw that Brenda Knight was related to Fred. I believe, the story said that he was her uncle.
Scott, Gary, Dex and Nancy Hall all need to learn how to read. I did say in my original post that, "what disturbed me the most was that the survivors of the crash were made to stand in line at the site, waiting for treatment." I honestly think that these people were mistreated, all around. I've never heard of people being made to stand around waiting for treatment. The entire situation needs to be investigated. Don't blame me for being concerned that they weren't treated as well as they should have been, no matter who they were, or where they were from. Dex, this accident happened in America. I don't care about how you think it would've been handled in Mexico, if it were a busload of Americans. Now who's being racist? Nancy, in reading your subsequent comments, I can tell that you're unhappy about the way the entire situation is being handled, as well. You, yourself, said, that there are "Numerous versions in the news stories." None of you should be jumping down my throat for making an observation based the way NBC reported the story on Sunday night.
First responders were dealing with a huge number of dead and severely injured people. They do not care what race or nationality the victims are, and for you to even suggest that is offensive to me and many others. There was obviously more victims than medical personnel in the early stages, and so the responders have to engage in triage, assessing those who need attention first. Those who were not hurt as badly, must wait for further first aid. There is nothing wrong, or racist, about that, nor does it need "investigating". Or do you somehow think that there must always be at least one medical person immediately on-site for each victim, or else they are “being mistreated”? Would you prefer that medical personnel apply a band-aid to someone's minor cut while letting another severely injured person die? The people standing, waiting for treatment, WERE ABLE TO STAND, unlike many others. And it seems to me that Nancy is only "unhappy" about the press's failure to address the occupants of the car and truck, not the way the "entire situation" has been handled, as you claim.
I don't mean to diminish anyone's memory, but gimme a break.
