A 1-year-old boy found in an unattended backyard pool Thursday evening in Rialto was pronounced deceased at Loma Linda University Medical Center, the coroner reported Friday.
A drowning was reported at 7:35 p.m. Thursday at a a residence in the 1700 block of North Vista Avenue, according to the coroner.
The toddler was transported by ambulance to the LLUMC emergency room, where he was pronounced dead at 8:25 p.m., the coroner reported.
The name of the boy, who was visiting family from out of state, was withheld pending notification of of his next-of-kin.
Rialto police were investigating.
