A Year Later, Community Remembers Fallen Teens

The community will hold a vigil for Quinn McCaleb and Andrew Jackson were killed a year ago by a gunman. Police are still looking for their killer.

A vigil to mark the anniversary of the deaths of two teens killed at a Redlands apartment complex is planned at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Quinn McCaleb and Andrew Jackson were killed Jan. 5, 2011. The boys and some friends had been at the Cinnamon Creek Apartments on Oxford Drive when a gunman walked up about 7 p.m. and opened fire.

No one has been arrested in the shooting.

The vigil, planned by Dr. Felix Jones of the Cops and Clergy Network, will begin at Sun Avenue and Post Street, near Colton Avenue and Church Street. It is scheduled to end near the Cinnamon Creek Apartment complex's playground, where shooting occured, according to organizers.

Police continue their search for the gunman. They ask anyone with information to call Sgt. Mark Hardy at (909) 798-7545 or Redlands Police dispatch at (909) 798-7681. Anonymous tips can be submitted by text at 274637 using the keyword “REDTIP.”
