Armed Robbery During Rain Reported at Coffee House on Greenspot in Highland

The robbery occurred at 7:05 p.m. Thursday in the shopping complex at Church Street and Greenspot Road, deputies said.

Two suspects in hoods and rain covers, one with a handgun, robbed the It's a Grand Coffee House at Church Street and Greenspot Road in Highland during the rain after sundown Thursday, according to the Sheriff's Department.

The robbery occurred at 7:05 p.m. Oct. 11 in the shopping plaza that includes a Cold Stone Creamery, a Wells Fargo, and a Stater Bros. grocery store, Highland Station personnel said. The street address is 28924 Greenspot Road.

The suspects entered the business, "produced a handgun and demanded money from the clerk," Highland deputies said in a statement. "The suspects received U.S. currency and fled from the business on foot."

"An area check was conducted by Sheriff's Aviation and patrol deputies, but the suspects could not be located," deputies said.

The suspects were described as 21 to 25 years old wearing hoods and "blue rain coverings," deputies said.

One suspect was black, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a heavy build, with a blue rain covering over a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

The other suspect was white, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build, with a blue rain covering over a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

The Sheriff's Department account did not say whether any customers were inside or outside the business, which has seating on the corner patio and indoors. The business is billed as a wifi hotspot.

Anyone with more info was urged to call the Highland Station at (909) 425-9793. A reward is available for information leading to the arrest of the suspects through We-Tip, at 1-800-78-CRIME. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
