Bell Man Dragged from Silverwood Lake Dies Early Monday at Loma Linda UMC

A drowning male was reported at 3:03 p.m. Sunday at the man-made mountain reservoir north of Crestline, according to the coroner.

A Bell man who was dragged from Silverwood Lake on Sunday afternoon died early Monday at Loma Linda University Medical Center, the San Bernardino County coroner reported.

A drowning male was reported at 3:03 p.m. Sunday at the man-made mountain reservoir north of Crestline, and people at the lake pulled him out of the water before emergency medical personnel arrived, according to a coroner's statement.

Resendo Garcia, a 35-year-old resident of Bell, was flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center by a helicopter crew, the coroner reported.

"Garcia was declared dead on May 21, 2012, at 0052 hours due to injuries," the coroner reported.

An autopsy to determine cause of death was pending.

Silverwood Lake is in the San Bernardino Mountains east of the Cajon Pass and west of Bear Valley.
